BASKETBALL & PLYOMETRIC PERFORMANCE TRAINING

 

The Basketball Realm offers intense basketball skill training sessions that will help enhance and polish your overall game through a balance of Skill, Speed, Agility, Flexibility, Strength and Performance Training.  As the game of basketball evolves, so should your training habits and methods. We can help you develop skills and techniques used in today's game through our Skill Enhancement Training. We want to create fundamentally sound athletes by teaching basketball principles and techniques through intense, instructive and positive training. Our training sessions are customized for all skill levels of any age or gender, all with the common goal of reaching the next level.

 

Our Athletic Performance Training includes Fastwitch, Vertimax, Plyometrics and Nike Sparq Training,  (Speed Ladders, Cone Drills, Resistance Training, Weight Ball Training & more). We aim to improve Speed, Explosion, Agility, Flexibility, Footwork, Endurance, and Jumping Strength through our designed workouts.  Below are descriptions and additional information on our training regimens.

THE "GUN" SHOOTING MACHINE

 

The "Gun” is the best basketball shooting machine to date for dramatically improving your ball players shot. This basketball shooting machine will act as an automatic rebounder, instantly rebounding a made or missed shot and giving a direct return pass for another shot.

 

The Gun has a timing device so you can determine the distance and the speed of your return passes, thus creating situations where players can develop their shooting skills off the move and with game like intensity.

FAST TWITCH ISOMETRIC TRAINING

 

What is FAST TWITCH TRAINING?  Fast Twitch Training is the most advanced strength and fitness training system in the world. Our Computerized Isometric training will isolate and condition your fast twitch muscle fibers and therefore increase your Speed, Agility, Power & Quickness. Our skeletal muscles consist of Three Main Fiber Types. These fiber types are::

1) Slow Twitch Fibers- Responsible for the strength and endurance of a muscle.
2)
Intermediate Twitch Fibers- Possess qualities of both slow and fast twitch fibers.

3) Fast Twitch Fibers- Responsible for the speed of muscular contraction.

Since our bodies are made up of different types of muscle fibers, all rely on different energy systems and support the body in different ways. Fast twitch fibers, as the name suggests, contract more more quickly than slow twitch muscle fibers and, as a result, they produce more power and strength. Fast twitch muscle fibers are activated during short bursts of speed and strength such as in sprinting or bodybuilding. These muscle fibers are also designed to grow larger in response to training unlike slow twitch muscle fibers.

 

 

  

 

 

What is PLYOMETRIC TRAINING?  Plyometrics is a type of exercise training designed to produce fast, powerful movements, and improve the functions of the nervous system, generally for the purpose of improving performance in a specific sport. Plyometric movements, in which a muscle is loaded and then contracted in rapid sequence, use the strength, elasticity and innervation of muscle and as it was supposed to be surrounding tissues to jump higher, run faster, throw farther, or hit harder, depending on the desired training goal. Plyometrics is used to increase the speed or force of muscular contractions, often with the goal of increasing the height of a jump or the speed of a punch or throw.

 

Over time plyometrics increases the amount of force your muscles can create and therefore makes you able to move more explosively. This will improve your sprint times, jumping height and overall sporting performance. It will also improve your co-ordination.

 

PLYOMETRIC PERFORMANCE TRAINING

 

  

 

What is VERTIMAX TRAINING?  VertiMax is a new and different type of training system that was proven to be 6X more effective than traditional plyometrics for developing explosive power. It will get you results you're not getting now because it is a new and separate type of training called "Light Load, High Speed" training.  The most accommodating training technique for developing power is light load, high-speed training using sport specific motions. It has been discovered that training at high speeds with light loads is an effective means to develop the body’s ability to generate power at high speeds.

 

Athletic Speed and Quickness is a primarily a function of leg drive power and leg pulling power.

 

Speed & Quickness = Leg Drive Power + Leg Pull Power
